GOLD AWARD PRESENTATION
On Sunday the 9th of July 2023 Thornbury Lions Club presented their YOUNG LEADERS in SERVICE GOLD AWARD to Thomas Eastman aged 15yrs.
Thomas has successfully completed in excess of 115 hrs hard work diligently helping out at Rudgeway Donkey Sanctuary voluntarily in his own time. A fantastic achievement!

A big "thank you" to Jean Fooks, the owner of the Sanctuary, for hosting the event and for all her endeavours over the years encouraging young people in various programmes including, for example, the Duke of Edinburgh award.

Jigsaw Supporter Event - June 2023
Thornbury Lions Club were invited to attend the Jigsaw Supporter Event held in St Mary’s Shopping Centre on 20/06/2023. The Jigsaw management gave a presentation about the work they continue to provide. The event included a buffet style lunch, which gave an opportunity for our Youth Officer, Kevin Simpson, to network with other organisations who also support Jigsaw. He was accompanied by his guest the Lions YLIS District Coordinator.
They are both shown in the above photo on either side of the Jigsaw People and Participation Lead who works on the Jigsaw Young Volunteer Scheme.
Thornbury Lions have already recently enrolled ten of Jigsaws young volunteers into the Lions Young Leaders in Service Award Scheme in order for them to receive recognition for their valuable volunteer work in the community.
They are both shown in the above photo on either side of the Jigsaw People and Participation Lead who works on the Jigsaw Young Volunteer Scheme.
