This month we are supporting a very worthwhile charity: the SOFA Project: They are a reuse, recycling and rehabilitation charity & social enterprise, serving Bristol since 1980. They take unwanted furniture, refurbish it with the help of local prisoners and sell on. They use the proceeds to relieve poverty. But they do more than just recycling furniture. If you want to learn more or just want to grab a bargain from one of their 3 shops in Bristol click on their logo to visit their website. |

1) The New Bridge Foundation, who support prisoners, relieving isolation, hardship and reduce re-offending. 2) Jigsaw, support children and young people in the area with additional needs or disabilities. 3) A young adult from Winterbourne academy looking for funds for a trip to Africa to help those in need. 4) Fareshare SouthWest, food bank. 5) Christ the King school in Thornbury to provide funds for pupils unable to afford summer camp to Mortha Bay. |
Thornbury Lions have recently contributed to the Lions International initiative to provide stoves to Ukrainian families. These robust stoves can be used for cooking and heating, which is essential during their cold winter months especially as the local infrastructure has been destroyed in many areas. Thanks to our bookshop customers, we have funded the provision of 8 stoves for this life saving cause. |

Thornbury Lions are regular supporters of Thornbury Area Youth Music, and our recent donation presented by our President Pete enables them to continue providing young people access to musical activities and tuition. Thornbury Area Youth Music meet Saturday mornings at Manorbrook School, Thornbury, and run a variety of activities for children aged between 4 and 18. This charity is run by parents and professional tutors for children who want to learn a musical instrument in a fun and supportive environment. |
